Applications open for ACCEL-KS proof-of-concept funding
Applications are now open for ACCEL-KS at KU Innovation Park, a statewide initiative that will provide proof-of-concept funding for technology-driven innovations being created in Kansas. Applications will be accepted on a rolling basis.The first review of submissions will begin on September 30. Who should apply?
ACCEL-KS is focused on early-stage development, and the program supports proof-of-concept projects with funding, technical assistance, and commercialization training. The goal is to reduce risk, unlock opportunity, and drive Kansas’s innovation economy forward.A few things to consider: The company’s headquarters needs to be in Kansas. Projects are meant to benefit the state’s economy and innovation ecosystem. You don’t need to have a company, but you should be ready to form a for-profit entity. You should also be ready to build, test or validate something tangible. Why apply?
ACCEL-KS at KU Innovation Park will provide commercialization tools, on-demand content and expert coaching through its digital education platform, Continuum. Selected companies will receive $25,000 in grant funding to test, build or validate their technology and prepare for market launch. Grant funds can be used for prototyping, testing, market research, technical consulting, commercialization support, and related proof-of-concept activities. Funds cannot be used for salaries, rent, travel, or general operating costs.
