Tax Credits Available - Support Entrepreneurship!

Last Updated 9/2/2026

Program Overview

The Kansas Economic Growth Act of 2004 established the Center for Entrepreneurship (d.b.a. Network Kansas) to build an entrepreneurial ecosystem connecting resource organizations and entrepreneurs. A key initiative was providing seed capital to small businesses in rural and distressed areas, supported by the Kansas Center for Entrepreneurship Tax Credit.

Additional Program Details

  • A tax credit is a dollar-for-dollar credit against income tax liability.
  • For every $1,000 donated, donors receive a $750 credit applied directly to their income tax liability.
  • Donors may also be eligible for federal and state tax deductions. Donors should consult their individual tax specialist to determine the amount of any deductions.
  • A K-31 Form is required with the individual tax form and is available online through the Kansas Department of Revenue.
  • Minimum and maximum allocations are based on each tax identification number (EIN or SSN).
  • Individuals, financial institutions—including banks and savings and loans—and corporations may donate.
  • Lending institutions may apply CRA credits.
  • Tax Credit Amounts

  • Minimum per year: $250 donation = $187.50 tax credit
  • Maximum per year: $133,333.33 donation = $100,000 tax credit
  • Tax credit rate: 75%

  • Our local Coffey County eCommunity team will receive a portion of funds collected!
